I was obsessed with Korn in high school. First step is admitting the problem, right? When Follow the Leader came out in the summer of 1998, i picked up my pre-order. Yes, I pre-ordered it.

I was obsessed with album. My first in-class art project was drawing the album cover using pen and ink.

The sky didn’t turn out the way I planned, but I really can’t change that detail 18 years later.

Pitt & Ripclaw Comic Book Ink on Paper Illustration

Like the Union comic book I mentioned earlier, I did not own any comics with Pitt or Ripclaw. The majority of my comic books as a child came from a local convenience store that carried primarily Marvel comics. Based on the style and my signature, this was illustrated in 1996 when I was in 8th grade.

I’m not certain which comic book this came from, because he made some cameos in other Image comic books in the 90s,

I used textured white paper and a black and red fine point sharpie.

I Should Invest in a Better Eraser

I was feeling pretty excited about drawing again. My new ink pens arrived in the mail and I setup my desk to stream the process on twitch. Once I did the quick outline in pencil, I started filling in some lines with ink. After 30 minutes, it was time to start erasing the pencil lines.

I thought I had a clean eraser.

One minute into erasing, I created a large smudge on the face and had to call the drawing finished.
